Do you work with defence and security-sensitive sites?

What Canberra work usually involves
The ACT instrument mix leans differently to an industrial city. Less production tooling, far more laboratory, facilities and test equipment attached to research programs, government facilities and healthcare — and almost all of it sits under a documentation regime where the certificate matters as much as the adjustment.

Documentation that survives review
Canberra clients are more likely than most to have their calibration records read closely — by an internal quality team, an external auditor, or a grant or contract review. Every certificate we issue records as-found readings before any adjustment, as-left readings after, the measurement uncertainty, the reference standards used and their traceability, and a recommended recalibration date.
Our reference standards are calibrated by NATA-accredited laboratories, so results are traceable to NATA-accredited national standards, under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. Where a contract or funding condition specifically requires an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited certificate for a given instrument, we will say so directly rather than issue something that will not hold up — the distinction is explained in NATA-traceable vs NATA-accredited calibration.
How we schedule ACT visits
Canberra is a planned run from our Werrington laboratory, roughly two and a half hours up the Hume. That shapes how to get the most out of a booking:
- Send the instrument list first — makes, models and quantities, so the right reference standards travel with the technician and the quote is fixed rather than hourly.
- Batch across departments. One visit covering several labs or buildings costs far less per instrument than separate jobs, and it puts the whole register on one recall date.
- Say if you are working to a date. Audit, accreditation review or grant milestone — tell us and we schedule backwards from it.
- Fixed equipment stays in place. Cold rooms, chambers, installed pressure systems and weighing platforms are calibrated where they operate.

Can you work around restricted or secure sites?
We regularly work to site induction, escort and access requirements. Tell us what is involved when you book so the visit is scoped properly — we will be upfront if a requirement is something we cannot meet.
What if an instrument fails?
You get the as-found data either way, plus a plain recommendation: adjust, repair, or retire. We would rather tell you an instrument is finished than certify one that is drifting.
