Industrial process plant pressure pipework

NATA-Traceable Pressure & Flow Calibration

FWC Calibration delivers NATA-traceable pressure and flow calibration for process plants, utilities, manufacturing, and laboratories across NSW, ACT, VIC, and the Northern Territory. We calibrate the full range — from low-pressure pneumatic systems to high-pressure hydraulic gauges, plus flow meters and vacuum instrumentation — with traceable certificates that support your ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 compliance obligations.

Pressure and flow instruments we calibrate

  • Pressure gauges (Bourdon tube, diaphragm, capsule)
  • Differential pressure gauges and transmitters
  • Pressure transducers and pressure transmitters
  • Vacuum gauges (mechanical and electronic)
  • Manometers and digital pressure indicators
  • Pressure switches and pressure controllers
  • Dead-weight testers
  • Flow meters (turbine, electromagnetic, ultrasonic, vortex)
  • Mass flow controllers and mass flow meters
  • Rotameters / variable area flow meters
  • Pitot tubes and airflow meters
  • Anemometers and hot-wire velocity meters

Pressure ranges we cover

  • Vacuum: down to absolute vacuum
  • Low pressure: 0 to 100 kPa
  • Medium pressure: up to 10 MPa
  • High pressure: up to 70 MPa

Calibration methodology

  1. Visual and functional inspection
  2. As-found measurement at minimum 5 points across the operating range (10 for critical), with rising and falling tests for hysteresis
  3. Adjustment where the instrument design supports it
  4. As-left measurement and uncertainty calculation
  5. NATA-traceable certificate

On-site mobile pressure calibration

Many pressure instruments are permanently installed in process lines, vessels, or compressed air systems. Our mobile units carry NATA-traceable pressure reference standards, hand and hydraulic pumps, vacuum sources, and documentation systems for on-site certificate issue. Critical for instruments tied to safety systems, plant operating permits, or production-critical control loops.

Pressure & flow calibration FAQ

How often should pressure gauges be calibrated?

Annual is standard. Safety-critical and compliance-driven instruments (e.g., pressure relief settings, custody-transfer flow meters) typically every 6 months.

Can you calibrate a flow meter without removing it from the pipeline?

For some flow meter types (clamp-on ultrasonics, certain insertion meters) we can verify in situ. Most positive-displacement and turbine meters require removal for true accuracy.

Do you handle high-pressure hydraulic gauges?

Yes, up to 70 MPa. Higher ranges available through partner labs with our NATA traceability.

Is custody-transfer flow meter calibration available?

Yes — we can perform proving runs and issue calibration certificates that satisfy custody-transfer requirements where applicable.
